Applied versus Theoretical Approaches in Undergraduate ElectricalEngineering

This paper contains a discussion and comparison of applied versus theoretical approaches to undergraduate Electrical Engineering education. The factors which innuence these approaches are identiied. The contemporary needs of industry are also discussed. The objective of the paper is to sensitize engineers in both the educational and industrial sectors to the need for a proper mix of these to philosophical approaches.
